Opposition leader gets his seat

The leader of the official opposition officially gets his legislature seat Monday.

The UCP’s Jason Kenney will be sworn in as the MLA for Calgary-Lougheed at a ceremony in Edmonton in the early afternoon.

Kenney won the seat by a landslide in a by-election in December after long-time MLA Dave Rodney stepped down to let Kenney run.

Kenney will be sworn in by Lieutenant Governor Lois Mitchell in the Chamber of the Alberta Legislature.
