Results from municipal elections around Alberta

It was a good night for many incumbents in municipal votes in the province on Monday night.

First off in Edmonton, Don Iveson cruised to his second term as mayor of Alberta’s capital city.

In Red Deer, Tara Veer was also re-elected.

Closer to Calgary, in Chestermere there is a whole new council as none of the incumbents sought re-election.

Sitting in the mayor’s chair there is Marshall Chalmers.

There’s also change in Cochrane, with Jeff Genung chosen as mayor.

In Airdrie, Peter Brown voted in as mayor yet again.

Voters in Lethbridge re-elected Chris Spearman, in Medicine Hat Ted Clugston cruised to another win, Craig Snodgrass wins another term in High River, and in Okotoks Bill Robertson has been re-elected.

Towards the mountains, John Borrowman re-elected as mayor of Canmore and Banff chose Karen Sorensen to lead them once more.
