Diamond interchange to be unveiled in south Calgary

A transportation celebration is set for Sunday afternoon in Calgary.

A massive infrastructure project that began in 2015 on the city’s south end will soon be open to drivers, but before that a ceremony will be held.

The city is celebrating the opening of Canada’s first diverging diamond interchange at Macleod Trail and 162 Avenue South.

Mayor Naheed Nenshi will be joined by Councillors Peter Demong and Diane Colley-Urquhart, along with Calgary-Shaw MLA Graham Sucha.

A staged opening of the road for drivers will happen Monday, and for all the details on that, stay tuned to 660 NEWS for traffic on the ones.
