Young cancer survivors whip moms and dads into shape

Talk about setting an example.

Youngsters from the Kids Cancer Care community gathered at Southcentre Mall Thursday to put their parents through the paces to get them ready for the upcoming Sporting Life 10K.

“They have their little whistles and clipboards,” described Kids Cancer Care spokesperson Megan Gough. “They’ve not gone easy on their parents! It’s been a lot of fun.

“We have some families who are participating in the run and we thought it would be a lot of fun if some of our kids, who are childhood cancer survivors, and their siblings, would do a little training session for their parents.”

Sporting Life 10K is Calgary’s fastest road race and will take place on Father’s Day weekend to support Kids Cancer Care.
