BOWDEN, Alta. – The north lanes of Alberta’s main north-south highway have reopened after a fatal, multi-vehicle crash, which killed a woman in her 20s.
Mounties say the crash involving a semi tractor-trailer and two other vehicles happened around 9:30 a.m. Tuesday on Highway 2 about two kilometres north of Bowden.
Three other women, also in their 20s, were taken to hospital — one with serious injuries. A fourth woman suffered non-life threatening injuries and the driver of the semi was not hurt.
Police say poor road and weather conditions were contributing factors and RCMP recommend avoiding travel in the area.
