International walking conference coming to Calgary in 2017

The University of Calgary has been selected to host the XVIII Walk21 International Conference on Walking and Livable Communities in 2017.

The event brings together experts on creating more walkable cities and communities.

Co-chair for the conference, Gavin McCormack, said there will be a lot for Calgary to take away from the event.

“This is a great opportunity for Calgary to showcase some of the great work that it’s doing here in the city around walkability and walking, but also to be introduced to some of the ideas that are being undertaken around the world,” he said.

The conference will be held in September 2017.
