Things appear to be moving quicker for former Calgary teacher Neil Bantleman

The defence team involved with former Calgary teacher Neil Bantleman, who remains in an Indonesian prison, says they are expecting a written decision from the Supreme Court by the end of the month.
It’s crucial because they can’t move ahead without the documents needed for a former judicial review.
Once they get the document, the formal review they say will be filed within two weeks.
That from his brother Guy Bantleman, who says his brother remains comfortable and is in relatively good health.
In an email, he writes:
“There have been a number of reports from various commissions and groups in Indonesia opining on this entire case, and asking for great transparency and investigation of the entire saga.”
“Several groups in Indonesia have also formed to demand information and an investigation into this entire case; the voices of these groups are getting stronger and louder; support inside Indonesia is at an all time high.”
Bantleman says they are continuing to get support from Global Affairs Ottawa and the Canadian Embassy in Jakarta.
He plans on attending an Indonesian Festival in Ottawa on May 22nd and 23rd in hopes of raising awareness about his brother.
May 30th will mark Neil’s 47th and second birthday behind bars.
Earlier this year, the Indonesian high court overturned his acquittal of charges of sexually abusing children and he was put back in prison.
He’s maintained his innocence since he was accused of abusing three children at the Jakarta International School.
