McHappy Day helps support families, sick kids

It’s McHappy Day: a time when McDonald’s restaurants in Calgary and across the country are raising money for the Ronald McDonald House.

Raman Chohan from Lethbridge knows firsthand just how important the Ronald McDonald House is to families.

Her nine-year-old son Yuvraj has leukemia and is currently undergoing chemotherapy in Calgary.

“I heard of Ronald McDonald House, but I didn’t know what it does, we had never had to use it, but I don’t know what I would do if it wasn’t here. I really don’t know. It’s like a place God has put here for families who are already going through so much to find a little peace and comfort,” she said.

Raman says her son will undergo a bone marrow transplant Thursday.

A dollar from every Big Mac sandwich, Happy Meal, or hot McCafe beverage sold on McHappy Day Wednesday will go to Ronald McDonald House Charities.
