Cause of suspicious death still undetermined after autopsy

The Chief Medical Officer has not been able to determine the cause of death of a woman who was found in a room at the Town and Country Motor Hotel Thursday afternoon.

They are now waiting on further test results, which are pending.

Calgary police were called to the hotel, in the 1800 block of 50th St. SE. at about noon to reports of a person in medical distress.

Staff at the hotel found a woman’s body inside a room and investigators deemed the death to be suspicious.

The CPS Homicide Unit is leading the investigation. They’re speaking with Joseph Jean Nathan Fortier, 43, who police believe has vital information in the case.

The victim’s identity is not being released.
