The Beltline has been named Calgary’s best neighbourhood by Avenue Magazine’s annual rankings.
The August issue of the publication lists the 50 best places to live in the city, based on amenities, affordability, walkability, crime rates, commute times, and community engagement.
It is being dubbed “the heart of the action in Calgary,” and mixed housing, numerous pubs and clubs, grocery and dining options, picturesque green spaces, and access to public transportation and Car2Go all make up the list of reasons why the Beltline moved up from number 2 last year.
Coming in at number two is northwest community of Brentwood, chosen because it has both a suburban feel, but a close proximity to downtown.
Acadia, in the southeast, landed the number three spot, because of its history, numerous recreational facilities, and sheer number of schools.
The Avenue Magazine issue goes on stands August 1, but you can check out the full list now online here.
