61-year-old man dead in Hwy 1A motorcycle crash near Canmore

A 61-year-old man has died after his motorcycle collided with a tour bus near Canmore Sunday afternoon.
Emergency crews arrived on scene of Highway 1A just three kilometres east of the mountain town.
Stuart Brideaux, a spokesperson for EMS, told 660News they were called around 3:30p.m.
“Unfortunately, the patient’s condition did rapidly deteriorate and in consultation with the STARS crew and the ground crews, the patient was declared deceased on scene and not transported to hospital,” Brideaux said.
No other injuries were reported.
RCMP closed the roadway for several hours for their investigation and the highway has since reopened.
