Unnamed driver suffered "medical issue" behind the wheel

Vehicle traveled a short distance before colliding with hay bale in a field northeast of Calgary

Emergency officials call it an "unfortunate incident"

One man is dead after a vehicle rollover northeast of Calgary.

Shortly before midnight, Thursday, Airdrie RCMP was called to an area east of CrossIron Mills, at Range Road 284 and Highway 566.

Constable Jason Curtis tells 660news “On investigation it was found that unfortunately the male driver had suffered a medical issue and the vehicle had traveled on a short distance before coming to rest against a hay bale.”

He added, “members attended, emergency medical services were called, but unfortunately the driver was already deceased.”

The driver was the only person in the truck that rolled before landing in a field.

There were no other vehicles involved.
