Flames get ready to roast the Ducks

After a couple of days to recover from a thrilling come from behind win that sent the Calgary Flames into the second round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs, fans are ready to do it all again.

The Flames start round two against the Anaheim Duck in California Thursday night, a much better team than the Vancouver Canucks who the Flames dispatched in the first round.

It’s a monumental task for the flames who haven’t won a game in Anaheim in their last 20 visits and since the Ducks have home ice advantage, Calgary will need to win at least one game in California to move on.

Boomer from Sportsnet960 The Fan’s morning show says the Flames will be heavy underdogs and will have to be near perfect in order to win this series.

“They need to have better goaltending. It’s a very young defense that the Anaheim Ducks have, so you have to be really rough on them,” he said. “Your top line has to be really good. It was just so-so for about five games against Vancouver. You can’t have that. You need to be ready from game one.”

Puck drop is at 8 p.m.
