Police release sketches, offer 25K reward in Lake Bonavista double homicide

Police are appealing for information in a year-old double homicide.

On February 15, 2014, The Calgary Fire Department responded to a home in the 12200 block of Lake Erie Road S.E. for a carbon monoxide complaint.

Don Carlson, 59, and Roxanne Carlson, 56 were found dead inside.

The homicide unit ruled out carbon monoxide as the cause of death.

Investigators are now releasing composite sketches of two men who were observed in the area at the time.

The first man is described as Caucasian, in his 40s, with long dirty blond hair and a slim build, and was spotted by a witness on Lake Erie Road on Saturday, February 15, 2014.

The second man was seen in the 200 block of the same roadway, February 14. He’s described as Caucasian, in his 30’s, 6′ tall, with dark hair.

A newer silver or grey pickup truck, possibly a Toyota was also spotted near the Carlsons’ residence.

Police have teamed up with an anonymous contributor, and are offering a $25,000 reward for the arrest and conviction of the person responsible for the murders.
