Lindsey Vonn backs boyfriend Tiger Woods’ account of the missing tooth

CORTINA D’AMPEZZO, Italy – World Cup ski champion Lindsey Vonn is backing boyfriend Tiger Woods’ account of how he lost a front tooth.

One day after winning her record 63rd World Cup race, Vonn posted Tuesday to Facebook that she was happy Woods surprised her by coming to the race and felt terrible that his tooth was knocked out.

Vonn confirmed the email from Woods’ agent, Mark Steinberg at Excel Sports Management, that a cameraman bumped into him and dislodged the tooth. Vonn says Woods remained in great spirits and didn’t ask for special assistance.

A race official told The Associated Press that the incident was never reported, and that Woods asked for extra security and a snowmobile to leave the area.

Through a spokesman, Steinberg said there was nothing to add.
