Social experiment shows Canadians not big on Islamaphobia

Canadians in the wake of two terrorist attacks targeting this country’s soldiers aren’t big on “islamaphobia.”

That in a new social experiment that is now trending across social media, YouTube in particular.

The video is the idea of a Canadian man of Palestinian descent named Omar Albach.

Albach filmed two actors, a Caucasian male berating a man dressed in Muslim garb, several times in front of different strangers.

In one case, the Islamic man was asked to take a different bus because he was “probably concealing explosives.”

They filmed the experiment using a hidden camera in Hamilton, otherwise known as Corporal Nathan Cirillo’s hometown and the results were overwhelming.

Each and every time, Hamiltonians rushed to the defense of the Muslim man.

“It was awful and tragic, but I don’t think that’s any reason to persecute someone because of what they’re wearing,” said one woman.

It ends with the words “it’s time that we all live together in peace,” and as of Monday morning had 470,000 views.
