Housing construction and prices up the last few months in Canada, especially Calgary

Housing starts and prices continue to rise in the country.
StatsCan reports its new house price index rose by 0.2 per cent in March, matching a similar gain in February.
Activity in the Calgary region is getting most of the credit for the bump.
Meanwhile, Canada Mortgage and Housing reports saws and hammers were busy last month.
April starts came in just below 1,600 in and around Calgary, which is up almost 600 from the same period a year ago.
