London Drugs clears the air over controversy around flu shots

London Drugs is responding to accusations from the Alberta NDP.

New Democrat Leader Brian Mason had accused the company of charging customers for flu shots, calling the system ‘two tier health care’.

London Drugs VP John Tse told 660News, their policy covers those outside of the public system who can’t wait for the vaccine.

“Typically the public vaccine isn’t available until November, so we typically bring in a small supply for the snowbirds who request it or the students who request it that are outside the Alberta health care system” Tse said.

He noted they would be willing to convert their private supply to the public if the government requests.

He said all they would want is the cost of the vaccine returned to them.
