Mayor praises volunteers as Folk Festival takes place at Prince’s Island Park

The show had to go on.

Friday night, it will thanks to some hard work.

That is the message from Mayor Naheed Nenshi who says he’s thrilled Prince’s Island Park is ready for this weekend’s Folk Festival.

Nenshi says it’s amazing how far the park has come after being ravaged by the Bow river.

“One of the first things I thought is where are we going to put the Folk Festival, will it go at COP, will it go downtown to Olympic Plaza?” he tells 660News. “The fact that my colleagues in Parks working with the dedicated volunteers at Folk Festival have been able to bring it back on time for the first act to play tonight (Friday) is a miracle.”
