Displaced High River residents still waiting for temporary housing

Housing being built for displaced residents in High River is not quite ready and the Province has had to push back the ready date for both units.

The Saddlebrook unit had been expected to be ready by Sunday which would house more than 1,200 people; The other unit in Great Plains in Calgary was to be ready by next Saturday which is expected house 1,000.

Both aren’t ready as the Province says more week is needed on both sites.

Residents in High River displaced by flooding can stay for free at the Super 8 motel in High River, the University of Lethbridge or the University of Calgary.

The Province says so far 336 have taken advantage of those accommodations.
