Pre-loaded debit cards available in Calgary starting Sunday

The province has announced pre-loaded debit cards for evacuees in Calgary will be available starting Sunday, June 30th, for households with last names starting with A to L.

The three locations to get the cards are Bowness High School on 77th Street NW, Queen Elizabeth High School on 18th Street NW, and Connaught School on 12th Ave SW.

On Monday, households with last names starting from M to Z can receive their cards.

Adults will be eligible to receive $1,250 and children under 18 will be eligible for $500.

In a news release, Premier Alison Redford said she anticipates long lineups Sunday, and she asks for patience as staff will be working as hard as possible to serve as many people as possible.

The cards will also be available in Canmore starting Sunday at the Canmore Recreation Centre.
