TORONTO – Some of the most active companies traded Monday on the Toronto Stock Exchange and the TSX Venture Exchange:

Toronto Stock Exchange (12,281.35 down 15.37 points):

Uranium One Inc. (TSX:UUU). Miner. Up nine cents, or 4.48 per cent, at $2.10 on 18,529,240 shares.

Manulife Financial Corp. (TSX:MFC). Financial services company. Up five cents, or 0.39 per cent, at $13 on 6,641,589 shares.

Research In Motion Ltd. (TSX:RIM). Wireless technology. Down 22 cents, or 1.59 per cent, at $13.66 on 6,272,237 shares. Rogers Communications says its current wireless customers will be able to place orders for BlackBerry 10 devices starting Monday.The new BlackBerry 10 devices on offer will be “all-touch” and won’t have the physical keyboard that BlackBerry users are familiar with typing on.

Eldorado Gold Corp. (TSX:ELD). Miner. Up seven cents, or 0.53 per cent, at $13.36 on 5,810,603 shares.

Bombardier Inc. (TSX:BBD.B). Transportation equipment. Up four cents, or 1.16 per cent, at $3.48 on 5,499,544 shares.

First Quantum Minerals Ltd. (TSX:FM). Miner. Down 84 cents, or 4.01 per cent, at $20.11 on 5,081,538 shares. Copper miner Inmet Mining Corp. (TSX:IMN) (up $3.02, or 4.32 per cent, on 1,626,508 shares) is taking a cautious approach to a renewed, $5.1-billion takeover bid for the company by rival First Quantum Minerals Ltd. (TSX:FM).Inmet said Monday that it has not yet received the unsolicited offer announced on the weekend by First Quantum and is urging shareholders to take no action until it can evaluate the details.

TSX Venture Exchange (1,184.99 up 1.37 points):

Orko Silver Corp. (TSXV:OK). Miner. Up 81 cents, or 51.27 per cent, at $2.39 on 11,147,032 shares.

Renegade Petroleum Ltd. (TSXV:RPL). Oil and gas. Up four cents, or 1.78 per cent, at $2.29 on 4,333,355 shares.

Sun Life Financial Inc. (TSX:SLF). Insurer. Down $1.09, or 3.92 per cent, at $26.74 on 4,505,249 Shares. The company will focus on growing its U.S. group insurance and asset management businesses after selling the more volatile variable annuity life insurance unit for US$1.35 billion to Delaware Life Holdings, a company owned by shareholders of Guggenheim Partners. Dean Connor, the Toronto-based company’s president and chief executive officer, called the transaction a “transformational change” for Sun Life.

TransCanada Corp. (TSX:TRP). Oil and gas. Up 31 cents, or 0.68 per cent, at $45.82 on 1,477,134 shares. The Ontario Power Authority announced Monday it had signed a contract with TransCanada Corp. to own and operate a gas-fired generating station near Kingston that was originally planned for the Greater Toronto Area.The 900-megawatt facility will be located near Ontario Power Generation’s Lennox Generating Station property in Napanee instead of Oakville, a move the Liberal government said would cost taxpayers $40 million.
