TORONTO – Some of the most active companies traded Friday on the Toronto Stock Exchange and the TSX Venture Exchange:

Toronto Stock Exchange (12,213.24 up 60.14 points):

TORC Oil and Gas Ltd. (TSX:TOG). Oil and gas. Unchanged at $2.54 on 9,715,576 shares.

Research In Motion Ltd. (TSX:RIM). Wireless technology. Down 39 cents, or 3.25 per cent, $11.61 on 9,171,720 shares. The stock gave back some of its gains from Thursday when it closed at its highest level in six months boosted by news that National Bank analyst Kris Thompson hiked his target on RIM shares US$12 to $15.

Bombardier Inc. (TSX:BBD.B). Transportation equipment. Up a penny, or 0.33 per cent, at $3.08 on 3,456,819 shares.

Talison Lithium Ltd. (TSX:TLH). Miner. Up 19 cents, or 2.80 per cents at $6.97 on 3,388,752 shares. The Australian Foreign Investment Board said that it has no objections in the proposed acquisition of Talison by a Chinese company. Earlier in the week, the company’s board said it will review a takeover offer by Chengdu Tianqi Industry Co. to see if it qualifies as a ”superior proposal” compared to its deal with Rockwood Holdings Inc.

Torex Gold Resources Inc. (TSX:TXG). Miner. Up a penny, or 0.49 per cent, at $2.07 on 3,069,787 shares. The gold sector rose 1.14 per cent to 318.99 points as the price of the bullion jumped US$23.20 to $1,751.40 an ounce on the New York Mercantile Exchange.

Talisman Energy Inc. (TSX:TLM). Oil and gas. Up 43 cents, or 3.82 per cent, at $11.68 on 2,469,784 shares. The energy sector was up 0.51 per cent at 251.03 points.

Poseidon Concepts Corp. (TSX:PSN). Fluid handler. Down 14 cents, or 2.66 per cent, at $5.12 on 2,428,532 shares.

TSX Venture Exchange (1,258.97 up 10.61 points):

Plains Creek Phosphate Corp. (TSXV:PCP). Mining and exploration. Up half a cent, or 50 per cent, at 1.5 cents on 9,870,000 shares.

Enablence Technologies Inc. (TSXV:ENA). Computer hardware. Up half a cent, or 50 per cent, at 1.5 cents on 5,152,602 shares.

Bombardier Inc. (TSX:BBD.B). Transportation equipment. Up a penny, or 0.33 per cent, at $3.08 on 3,456,819 shares. Its aerospace division is refuting the claim by Estonian Air’s new CEO that its three CRJ900s are uncompetitive for its routes and that their purchase two years ago was a mistake. A spokesman for the Montreal-based manufacturer said the aircraft have lower cash operating costs than the Embraer planes the airline plans to sell as it cuts routes and shrinks its fleet size.
