Canadian Hurricane Centre monitors Leslie, possibly headed towards Maritimes

The Canadian Hurricane Centre is monitoring the development and uncertain path of hurricane Leslie.

The storm is expected to intensify over the next three days, but forecasters believe it will move very slowly.

Computer models indicate Leslie may eventually accelerate toward eastern Canada, hitting Nova Scotia and Newfoundland, but this is unlikely to happen until early next week.

The Hurricane Centre warns that additional broader factors which computers may be unable to predict could also have an impact.

More detail on the storm is expected by Friday.
