Calgary EMS and City Transit offer some advice to Stampede Parade goers

With bright warm sunshine in the forecast for the Stampede Parade, Calgarians and visitors to the city taking in the “Greatest Outdoor Show on the Earth” are being encouraged to think ahead before heading downtown.

Ron Collins with Calgary Transit tells 660News, buses and c-trains are the best way to get in and out of the core for the parade Friday morning.

Although he says with as many as 350,000 spectators, people need to be patient.

C-trains operate 24/7 during Stampede.

Stuart Brideaux with Calgary EMS says parade goers need to remember three things, to slap on the sunscreen, wear a wide brim hat, and to make sure they keep themselves hydrated.

Brideaux says there will be a number of paramedic crews working the parade and if anybody needs medical attention, help is only a “yahoo” away.
