Certain Best Value brand beef burgers recalled due to E. coli risk

Consumers are being warned not to east certain Best Value beef burger products because they may be contaminated with E. coli.
The Canadian Food Inspection Agency said the product come in 10 and 20-burger packages, weighing one and two kilograms, respectively.
The 10 Beef Burgers package carries a UPC code of 7-71212-88103-8 and the 20-burger package has a UPC code of 7-71212-88104-5. More info
These products have been distributed to Giant Tiger retail stores in British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba and to Northern Canada retail stores in British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Ontario, Quebec, Newfoundland and Labrador, Northwest Territories and Nunavut.
The federal agency said there has been one reported illness linked to eating these burgers.
New Food Classics of Burlington, Ont., is voluntarily recalling the affected products from the market and the CFIA is monitoring the recall.
Food contaminated with E. coli may not look or smell spoiled, but eating it may cause serious and potentially life-threatening illnesses.
