BC Lions getting set for final pre-season game

KAMLOOPS (NEWS1130) – The BC Lions will leave Kamloops and training camp Tuesday night and return home in time for their final pre-season game Wednesday against the Saskatchewan Roughriders.

Coach and general manager Wally Buono still has 60 players on his roster.  After cutting quarterback Matt Johnson over the weekend, Bouno has four quarterbacks left and all four will see action against the ‘Riders.

Starter Travis Lulay will start the game against Saskatchewan and he’ll see lots of playing time.  The battle for the third quarterback will be decided by Corey Leonard and Mike Reilly.

Two players who won’t be suiting up Wednesday night at Empire Field for the Lions will be injured players receiver Shawn Gore and defensive back Dante Marsh.

The Lions kicked off their pre-season with an impressive 24-0 win in Calgary last week.

Buono also traded trouble running back Jerome Messam to the Edmonton Eskimos in exchange for a fifth-round selection in the 2013 Canadian Draft.

Messam, a non-import, was placed on the suspended list by the Lions last week.
