Last couple of days set cold and wet records

LOWER MAINLAND (NEWS1130) – If you’re one of the many Lower Mainlanders who have been griping about the weather lately, it looks like your complaints are justified.

News1130 Meteorologist Russ Lacate tells us we set a new temperature record yesterday. “To peel another long-standing record of the Wall of Shame, 3.3 was the low temperature yesterday morning. That bottomed-out below the previous record of 3.9, which was set on May 12, 1970.”

“It did warm up to 15 degrees by the afternoon,” he notes. “Today’s numbers will exceed that, so at some point, we’ll try to stop whining about yesterday’s cold news.”

Dreary weather has been our theme all week. “Wednesday turned out to be the rainiest May 11th since 1938. Maybe we can set some new trends in the days ahead.”
