It’s a wrap! Onlookers revel in Royal Wedding experience

LONDON, U.K. – As the royal couple arrives at their reception at Buckingham Palace to dance the night away, most people who watched Wills and Kate’s nuptuals from the street say the event was “amazing”, and it was the experience they were hoping for and would not have missed it for the world.

“It’s a moment in history,” one woman told 680News. She was one of thousands of onlookers outside Westminster Abbey to see Kate enter as a commoner and exit as the Dutchess of Cambridge.

“It was brilliant, really fun,” said another local woman.

“[I’m so] glad I got to do that,” said a woman visiting from the other side of the pond.

Many had praise for Kate’s Sarah Burton-designed dress.

“Absolutely beautiful, stunning,” said one woman. “Couldn’t have asked for anything more. Our future Queen, gorgeous.”

“I think her dress is really well done as well because it wasn’t too revealing,” said another.

Kate, in lacy dress with her face covered by a thin veil, with an elegant tiara on her head, walked down the aisle at Westminster Abbey at 10 a.m. local time for her marriage to Prince William accompanied by her father.

Loudspeakers were hoisted up on a crane outside the Abbey which allowed the capacity crowd to listen to the ceremonies. When the couple was officially pronounced husband and wife, everyone outside cheered, hugged and popped open champagne.

“We love William. We’re happy for him, happy that he’s found someone that’ll take good care of him,” Torontonians Kathy and Trish told 680News, saying they were thrilled they made the trip.

The crowd errupted into cheer once again when the new Duke and Duchess of Cambridge rode by in their horse drawn carriage.

“You’re never going to forget it, and I feel like when she passed by, she took the time to wave to the crowd and make eye contact, and it made it feel really personal,” said another woman who travelled to London for the event.

A portion of the crowd followed the royal procession down to Buckingham Palace to witness the two kisses between the newlyweds, which many said was “so nice”.

“[I’m] a little bit jealous,” said a woman in the crowd.

Even the weather cooperated, serving up some sunshine rather than the earlier-predicted rain.

“It was more than I thought it would be,” said a British woman.

“We’re really proud to be English, and it’s nice to be part of something where it’s not just English people but everybody appreciates it,” said another.

As the evening festivities got underway, the bride herself said she and Prince William “had a great day”.
