Royal watchers making bets on Will and Kate’s wedding

LONDON, U.K. – The betting firm Paddy Power reports record levels of wages around the world ahead of next week’s royal wedding

According to the bookmaker, almost 5,000 bets have been made to date on a range of topics including: How late Kate Middleton will arrive at the church, her wedding dress, the colour of the Queen’s hat, and even the best selling souvenir.

Betters are also discussing what the wedding song will be, with the 7 to 4 favourite being the “Bridal Chorus” by Wagner, and the long shot at 250 to 1 being “Forever” by Chris Brown.

The company said Will’s marriage to Kate is the second biggest one time betting event in its history, with the succession of the pope in 2005 coming in first.
