Liberal leader tours GTA, Saturday

TORONTO, On. – As the Liberals fight to gain some ground in the election campaign, Leader Michael Ignatieff will look to make an impact on some important ridings in the Greater Toronto Area, Saturday.

Ignatieff will begin his day in the GTA at the Delta Chelsea Hotel, located at 33 Gerrard St., West, at 10 a.m.

From there, Ignatieff and members of the Liberal team will attend a campaign barbecue at Mario Ferri’s Campaign Office at 3883 Rutherford Rd., Unit 18 in Woodbridge. Expect the Liberal leader to arrive around 12:30 p.m.

To end the day, Michael Ignatieff will stop by Lester B. Pearson Collegiate Institute at 150 Tapscott Rd. around 4 p.m. There will be a rally in the cafeteria.

Last night, Ignatieff was in Markham, Ont., telling supporters that unlike his opponents, he has a platform that benefits everyone.

“The family pack is not for some Canadians, it’s not for some families, it’s for every single family in this room and every single family in Canada,” he said.

The GTA was recently a Liberal stronghold, but last year they lost the riding of Vaughan in a by-election to Conservative star candidate Julian Fantino.
