BC couple disappears

PENTICTON (NEWS1130) – Police on both sides of the border are trying to find a Penticton couple who disappeared on their way to a trade show in Las Vegas.

Albert and Rita Chretien crossed the border into Washington State through Oroville, just south of Osoyoos, on March 19th.

The pair had been planning to drive to Las Vegas in their brown 2000 Chevrolet Astro van (with BC plate number 212-CAV) for a trade show.

Corporal Dan Moskaluk says the last sign of the couple was when their credit card was used at a gas station in Oregon that same day, along the route the couple was taking. “We now have an avenue to investigate. We have not confirmed that it was actually them that used the card.”

Other than that there’s been no cellphone or banking activity from couple, who own an excavating company in Penticton.

The 59 and 56-year-old were reported missing this week by their children when they didn’t return from their trip as expected. Their family says this is out of ordinary for the couple.

Mounties are now trying to make the case known south of the border. Anyone with information should contact police.
