Airline ticket prices on the rise

VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – If you’re planning a trip, you should probably do it soon. Airline tickets are getting more expensive in the US; it appears that will probably soon be the case in Canada as well.
“We had seen a lot of airlines tightening up the space on planes during the downturn in the economy,” says Claire Newell with Jubilee Travel. “Now that the economy is starting to improve, we’re starting to see those planes fill up quickly and there’s no chance for sales.”
Luckily, there are still some travel deals out there, but they aren’t usually found in traditional places. Newell says social media sites are the best place to shop.
“The easiest, fastest and most affordable way for us to sell seats quickly is to put them on Facebook and Twitter,” she says.
She’s also recommending booking as early as possible to save money.
