Calgary’s Jazz Fest is cancelled.

It’s a big blow to Calgary’s music scene.

The 2010 Jazz Festival has been cancelled, just two days before it was to start.

The Calgary Jazz Association says in a statement, the decision was made after a six hour meeting of the board on Saturday. The group concluded financial success wasn’t a possibility for this year.

Ticket holders will get a full refund and the organizers are contacting artists, volunteers and businesses impacted by the decision.

Interim President, Richard Sherry says he knows there is an audience for a Jazz Fest in Calgary and hopes they can find the right circumstances to bring it back.
