Child rushed to hospital after being hit by vehicle

A girl is in hospital after being struck by a vehicle Saturday afternoon in a parking lot in the city’s northeast.
A 25-year-old driver-in-training was backing out of a space at Terry Fox Junior High, hitting the girl in the process.
The young girl’s father witnessed the incident and immediately drove her to hospital. She is presently in serious critical condition.
Police continue to investigate at this time.
