CIBC forecasts moderate growth for 2010

CIBC World Markets says our province is beginning to emerge from the recession, however reduced consumer spending will drag down activity.
The bank says Alberta is benefiting from increased demand for energy products and the cool down in the housing market, but will lag behind Saskatchewan, B.C and Newfoundland Labrador.
CIBC predicts our economy will grow by 2.4 percent this year and by more than 4 percent in 2011.
Yesterday The Conference Board of Canada predicted Calgary’s economy would grow by 3.3 percent in 2010.
