Calgary wastewater plant way over-budget

The city is slashing millions from an over-budget water treatment plant.
Five years ago, the Pine Creek Wastewater Treatment Facility had a price tag of $240 million, but costs of construction materials has seen that balloon to more than $450 million.
The chair of the committee tells The Calgary Sun the project began when the price of steel was extremely high.
But alderman Linda Fox-Mellway says coming in $13 million under-budget is a significant amount of money.
