Man faces charges in New Year’s hit and run spree

A 27-year-old Calgary man is facing 19 weapon and traffic related charges after a hit and run spree in a stolen pickup on New Year’s.
Officials say the hit and runs stopped when the vehicle crashed near Varsity Drive and 53rd Street N.W..
The suspect hit a power pole after crashing into two vehicles.
Calgary police tell 660News, two witnesses came to his aid but he turned combative, swinging a tire iron and spraying pepper spray.
A third witness was able to keep the suspect at bay until police arrived.
When officers did arrive, the man tried to attack them with a cordless drill but they managed to wrestle him out the passenger window of the car and arrest him.
Kyle Keenan is charged with 19 weapons and traffic-related offences.
